A few words from our Chairman

The problem of dyslexia is something that concerns us all.  The country's future success and prosperity rests on the ability to provide a high standard of education to all our children.

The huge success of our first teaching centre in ensuring that each dyslexic child receives the help they need to succeed at school comes as no surprise.  Less well understood are the benefits on the whole of the family of finally getting help and the inevitable influence in preventing family conflicts and childhood behavioural problems.

Unfortunately, the need for our
free services far outweighs our ability to provide both extra tuition assessments and all other kinds of help.  However, this is the reason (with your help) that we must expand the number of families we help each year.  As in the past our future plans will owe much to the many Businesses and Charitable trusts that have supported us financially for the past five years.  Naturally we hope to build on the enormous good will and friendship they have shown us.

The parents who play such a vital part in bringing about awareness of dyslexia must also be congratulated on their excellent work and their tireless enthusiasm.

On behalf of the children and the parents I am asked to say a very special thank you to the many businesses and charitable trusts that have given us their support in the past year.

Many new and exciting things lie ahead, modern initiatives in teaching and education, new research into dyslexia and how it effects children and campaigns to promote equality of opportunity in education.

Finally, of utmost importance is the large number of
free dyslexic screening tests we hope to be able to carry out this year.  Such tests quickly identify dyslexic children and thereby enable them to receive appropriate help as soon as possible.  Whilst allowing parents to take the first step in bringing about a better quality of life for their child.
